I'm going to be putting in another order at foambymail.com and I'm hoping to combine orders so we can get free shipping.
I ordered a bunch of foam from them before, my full initial review is
here on the Bel boards, but here's a short version of some of their stuff:
Polyetheylene: 2# - Good for making coreless shields, nothing else. 4#/6# could make great shield hooks.
Volara: I haven't found it to be as tear resistant as its reputation suggests, but I love it anyway. I ordered 1/8", 3/8" and 1/2" before, and the main reason I'm making this order is to get some 1/4" as well. It's a great all-purpose closed-cell.
Minicell: Essentially identical to EVA. I can barely tell the difference between the 2# and 3#. I haven't actually used any of mine yet, but I expect it to be similar to a decent EVA - nice squish, but vulnerable to tearing unless built carefully.
Ensolite: This is the magic stabby tip foam. I haven't used theirs, and ensolite does vary in stiffness, but this is actually a pretty good price if you don't have any yet. It can also be used as a blade layer with good success, particularly for round blades.
Open cell: I haven't used theirs. I'm going to be buying some, but actually just for packing miniatures

. I *suspect* that it's a little lower density that you'd ideally want for arrows, but I don't know for sure.
If anyone has any interest, let me know. I'd like to get the order in within the next week or so.
