Sure. I will try and remember to talk to Sync about getting dates for the park (I'm assuming in March?).

i know that Chicken has expressed interest/when i approached him he seemed to like the idea, of taking the lead on this one and running it. He has to run an event for his Knight's Trial, so he wants to get involved pretty strong in this. And i support the idea.

I will be at the beckon and call of whoever needs me to help with whatever, but will not be volunteering to run or be in charge of anything this time. However, if asked to, i will.

We'd best get to decidin a date, so out of towners have ample time to plan. Are we going to have an order of events list?

Hey hey! Guess who's been out of the loop this winter? The good news is my knee didn't lock once at WPO! The bad news is I'd totally forgotten about that conversation and haven't been on the boards or at practice much at all lately. I'd be happy to get this up and running, though.

I'll also be co-running Armageddon this summer (which you should all go to!), so you all get to be my guinea pigs!

For date and location I'm working with Sync to book the park right now, shooting for March 27th. I know that's two weeks later than last year, but we're tight for time and I don't know of any conflicts with that date (and the 20th is terrible for me). Speak now or forever hold your peace.

For food, I'm planning on cheap DIY sandwiches, chips, powdered gatorade, and potluck baked goods or anything else anyone wants to volunteer - cheap, easy, flexible, filling, and something you can eat whenever you want.

For weapons check, I will probably need about 3 volunteers willing to do it until it's done, and probably 4-5 more to start out. I will help until we get enough weapons checked that people can start fighting, at which point I'm on heralding. I'm also hoping to have a nifty contraption out for testing flex.
If no one objects, I would like to make this a Dag/Bel weapons check. That is, if a weapon meets the rules (and hit, etc.) to pass in at least one sport it passes. There are not a lot of significant differences in the standards, but I'm hoping it would help pull some more people from other realms, as nearly all of our nearby neighbors are Bel. Obviously, unsafe is unsafe in any sport, none of the rules differences either way have a significant impact on safety. This would only apply to weapons check, not field fighting.
If people don't like that idea, we can stick to Dag-only.

For heralding, I will plan to act as head herald for the entire day. Depending on turnout and scenario, I will need 1-2 others rotating through at all times, as well as occasionally more for counting, line judging, etc. I will draw up a rough schedule of games by this weekend, but mostly I'm thinking to have a mix of small-group regen (teams of 2-4), straight-up two team field battles, and various regen and non-regen scenario battles; bridge, CTF, portal, Aztec Football, Jugging, King, Fetch if people have too much energy, Zombies if they have too little, etc.
I am planning to have minimal called water breaks. We will have gatorade in the pavillion and water on the edges of the field and regular reminders, but letting people manage themselves really keeps the fighting going.

Medics: Sync, are you willing, and is there anything you need?

For materials, here's a wishlist, much of which is probably already accounted for somewhere:
* Lots of fighters ;)
* That pop-up pavillion for troll again
* Any and all water/gatorade jugs
* Does anyone have the headbands from last year?
* I have one scale, I'd like a second
* Bow tester
* Any available field cones (I'm going to get some, anyone else who has some would be great)
* Field paint
* Baked goods, other food anyone would like to contribute

For last minute preparations, I'd like to have a build/planning/token-making/etc. session on Sunday, March 21st after practice... somewhere. Baker? Twinkle? Anyone else?

Things I'd like people to Volunteer for:
1) Schilling to area Dag groups/dag boards - I've got the Bel side covered. Obviously we need a firm date & time first.
2) Troll/Weapons Check/Heralding. I'm least concerned about Weapons check, most would like plenty of heralds willing to work ~45-60min shifts so everybody gets plenty of time to fight.
3) Token making, headbands too if necessary
4) Food - like I said, I'm thinking just simple sandwich and snacks, plus whatever people want to make. I'll bake something, if others want to as well, or make soup or bread or something else tasty.

Feedback I'd love:
* Ideas for tokens
* Any preferred/hated battles
* Important things I've left out because I'm dumb
* Dumb things I've left in because I'm important.
* Clever thoughts because I'm out of them.
* Etc.

I'd offer help, but I'm not sure if I can get off work yet. I'm going to try though. We'll see what happens then.

What I can offer is the other scale you want.

I will talk with JOhn about the pavilion. Tis his. I will also mention something to Itch and him about maybe legion being money people and such. Let me know what you think.

Some of the stuff you are wanting assistance on is already covered.

We still have about 150 tokens left from Anniversary. Itchy made a ton because they were cheap (ie, free. just small scraps of leather), easy (again, scraps of leather, a punched hole and a couple of tooled marks) and quick (he made about 200 in just under 3 hours). They are all plain so we can write the event and entry number on them as we go. Personally, I think this is a hell of a lot easier than having to design/make new event tokens with such little time before the event. I can also provide cording for the tokens (I have lotsa hemp, as well as other random twine, leather and whatnot, if we run out of hemp).

Headbands are currently in the club box (wherever it may be), along with the...4? heralds tabbards I made. Extra fabric is sitting in my house (in an easy to reach location) and can simply be cut up as needed for bands). I think we have about 6 cans of park accepted spray paint in with the club stuff, as well, along with rope.

I've run Troll for the past couple events and have no problem in running it again. I would, in fact, prefer to be in charge of troll instead of someone else because I'm ok with working it while others go and fight (that, and I kinda have it down to a very workable system). I just ask that there be someone there sitting with me so I don't get too bored. Helpers in shifts are ideal. During the first couple hours, I'd like to have 2 helpers, just to handle the volume of people. After that, one person with me is cool (esp if I have to get up to pee or anything).

Food: I have leftover gatorade, water and an unopened jar of pickles sitting in my house (people have been consuming the gatorade and water, but they've still been paying for it, so we are not out that money). It isn't a whole lot of leftovers, but it will definitely go towards the cause.

Give me a date and a time and I will pimp this thing out on the Dag boards like there's no tomorrow. It would also be a good idea for someone on the Midwest Boards to throw it up there as well.

As for a planning meeting, I'm down with it being at my place on the 21st. I just ask that everyone respect the rules of my house (respect me, Will, others and the stuff in my house. Failure to comply will get your *** permabanned). If you feel that 150 tokens won't be enough, I will talk to Itch and ask him if he has time to cut more squares of leather so we can hole punch and stamp them. We do not have the room for weapons building, however. Maybe a few repairs here and there, but nothing major.

Jodie, Legion has been money people in the past because they were specifically asked to by event coordinators (or because no one else would do it), not because they were forced to for being Legion. It should be Chicken asking us to volunteer, not Itch volun-telling us.

Being medic is never a problem and all I really need are any extra first aid supply's people have a qwik list is

Ankle & Knee bandages
Ice packs
Any form of splints

That's about it, if you can think of an injury someone could get bring me something for it.

The date for the park is Sunday the 21st ( I'm almost positive and will double check. If it's not that date then it's that Saturday) I know this doesn't work for some as you have called me at weird hours to express this *cough*Itchy*cough* I can not do anything about this. My ability to get the park for free only applies to dates it is not already taken by someone who is paying. If you have any questions about First aid stuff or the park you know where to find me.

If people are cool with it, let's have a planning meeting on Friday the 19th at 7 pm my place. From there, if we need to make things, we can meet again on Saturday at 3 (my place again) to do whatever we need to do.

Twink-

I never expressed that we were volun-told. I was hoping to volunteer us if it was acceptable to the person running the event, the person who would want to sign off on us saying legion as a group running money, and the person who has the pavilion. I would volunteer with out the others in legion anyways... Please next time call me and avoid this or call me and finish this conversation.
